NW-S739F

The NW-S739F is the largest capacity noise-canceling Network Walkman part of the 6th generation S series. It features 16GB of built-in flash memory and supports MP3, WMA, AAC, and WAV audio playback formats. It has a 240x320 LCD display and is powered by a lithium-ion battery.

The NW-S739F was the top model of Sony's S730 series, combining a slim form factor with a mature implementation of digital noise cancelling in a compact flash Walkman. It represented a refined stage of Sony's S-series approach to portable listening.

The design used a thin, tapered body with a clean layout that supported easy pocket use while maintaining structural stability. A two-inch QVGA display enabled video playback with improved clarity and motion compared to earlier compact players, reflecting Sony's experience with small display technologies.

Noise cancelling remained central to the experience, with bundled earbuds incorporating microphones that fed a built-in processor to reduce consistent background noise. Playback supported ATRAC and MP3 formats, while Clear Bass and Clear Stereo maintained a controlled audio profile.

Battery life remained strong even with noise cancelling active, supporting extended daily use. The device became a small, controlled media system.
