Network Walkman

Early Flash Walkman

These models capture the phase when flash memory stopped feeling experimental and started becoming the practical answer for the Network Walkman line. From the earliest built-in flash E Series players to the more mature E500 generation, this collection shows Sony working out what a self-contained digital Walkman should be. The boundary is not perfectly clean, and that is part of the point. Some of the later models already hint at the next phase, but together they show the moment when internal flash storage became the foundation of the digital Walkman.
