NW-S636F

The NW-S636F is a base model in the sixth-generation S Series Network Walkman family. It unified the S730 and S630 design languages while introducing Omakase Channel playlist generation. It provides 4 GB of storage supporting MP3, WMA, AAC, and WAV files along with a 240x320 LCD display, FM radio with recording, video and photo playback, Clear Audio Technology, and 40-hour lithium-ion battery life.

This Walkman model came from the phase where the S Series had become one of Sony's most naturally usable flash Walkman families. Earlier in the decade the line had bounced between sports identity, feature experiments, and semi-premium positioning. By the S63x generation it had become something much cleaner: a compact, polished, broadly appealing mid-tier Walkman with FM and a more media-friendly personality. The line had finally stopped wobbling and started feeling like it would simply stay.
