NW-E103

NW-E103

The NW-E103 is part of the fourth-generation E Series family and adopted a more compact stopwatch-like disc design. It features 256MB built-in storage for ATRAC and MP3 playback on an LCD display and offers up to 70 hours from a single AAA battery. The model maintained the performance level of the previous NW-E99 generation while emphasizing a smaller physical footprint.

A compact redesign of the E Series that kept the flash Walkman moving away from utilitarian gadget territory and toward something more deliberately styled and pocket-friendly. By this point, Sony had already established the core flash formula, so the real work was shifting toward how that formula should be carries, worn, and visually framed. The E Series was becoming less about proving flash playback and more about making it desirable.
