The NW-E75 is part of the main domestic 256MB models of the third-generation E Series flash Walkman. It supports ATRAC and MP3 playback from its built-in storage via an LCD display and achieved up to 70 hours of use from a single AAA battery. This model sat among the standard higher-capacity options in Sony's core 2004 E Series range.
One of the core domestic higher-capacity models in the third-generation E Series, arriving at the point when the flash Walkman had become much more confident and usable than its earliest ancestors. The line no longer felt like a digital novelty. It was starting to feel like a normal product branch with a clear place in Sony's portable lineup. By this stage, battery life, compatibility, and compactness were becoming part of a more mature baseline expectation for what a flash Walkman should be. It belongs to that settling-down phase of the E Series.
