D-NE830

The D-NE830 is a mature compressed-disc CD Walkman from 2005 that refined the formula into something more complete and easier to live with while supporting ATRAC3plus, ATRAC3, MP3, and standard CDs with a remote for navigation and display. It kept the whole experience stable and predictable for both commercial albums and large homemade compilations.

By this point, the file-capable idea had been worked over enough that it no longer needed novelty or dramatic styling to justify itself. The D-NE830 was part of the stage where the format simply needed to feel smooth and coherent.
