The D-EJ720 is a slightly more balanced late CD-only player from 2005 that ran on two AA batteries and handled standard CDs plus CD-R/RW discs with G-Protection in a body whose controls and battery life felt a little more settled than the lowest-end machines. It stayed focused on straightforward disc playback without trying to stretch into anything else.
That gives it a clearer everyday role than the bare-minimum models. The D-EJ720 is part of the part of the late lineup where Sony is still making a proper portable CD player instead of just the cheapest possible one.
