The NWD-E023F is the European non-ATRAC version of the ninth-generation E Series Network Walkman. It dropped ATRAC support in favor of drag-and-drop transfer for those markets. The player provides 1 GB of storage supporting MP3, WMA, and AAC files along with FM radio, the detachable Style-Up Panel, direct USB connectivity, and 30-hour lithium-ion battery life.
This Walkman model was best understood as a regional or branding variation of the same compact late USB-stick E platform instead of a separate conceptual model. Its meaning stayed tied to that branch: tiny body, FM-equipped convenience, quick charging, and low-friction everyday use. By this stage Sony's smallest Walkman no longer needed a dramatic story to justify themselves. The format had become familiar enough that compactness and convenience were enough.
