The NW-A919/BI is a special edition of the top-capacity third-generation A Series model. It added FM radio to the existing OneSeg television and multimedia feature set. The player offers 16 GB storage supporting ATRAC, MP3, WMA, and AAC files. The LCD display, noise cancellation, video/photo playback, Clear Audio Technology, FM radio, and 36-hour lithium-ion battery completed the package.
This player maintained the third-generation A Series positioning as a full-features portable media device with regional radio additions. It is a cosmetic or regional branch of the same A919 platform, carrying the same meaning as the base model instead of changing the hardware's role. By this stage the A Series no longer needed every model to justify itself from scratch. Sony had finally built a premium flash line strong enough to support straightforward variant expansion without making the whole thing feel unstable.
