The NW-A919/NW is another special variant of the flagship third-generation A Series model. It retained the 16 GB capacity and OneSeg television while incorporating FM radio. Featuring 16 GB of flash storage for ATRAC, MP3, WMA, and AAC playback, it includes an LCD screen, noise cancellation, video and photo support, Clear Audio Technology, FM radio, and 36-hour lithium-ion battery.
The variant stayed within the third-generation framework of broadening the A Series into integrated multimedia. It is another regional or finish variation of the same A919 platform, and best understood as a branch of an already mature premium flash Walkman instead of a separate conceptual step. The player's role in the lineage stays exactly where it already was.
