The NW-A919 represented the highest-capacity model in the third-generation A Series Network Walkman family. It offers the first 16 GB variant alongside the new OneSeg television capability. It provides 16 GB of flash storage for ATRAC, MP3, WMA, and AAC files. An LCD display, noise cancellation, video and photo playback, Clear Audio Technology, and 36-hour lithium-ion battery were included.
This top model fully realized the third-generation emphasis on expanded multimedia roles within the premium A line. It capped that generation and represents the fullest version of Sony's late classic premium flash A formula before the line pivoted again. By this point, the A Series felt less of a branch being invented in public and closer to a branch being maintained and sharpened. It is part of the period where Sony had finally gotten the premium flash Walkman into a reasonably stable and desirable shape.
