NW-A918

The NW-A918 is the mid-capacity model in the third-generation A Series Network Walkman lineup. It carries the OneSeg television feature that marked the generation's multimedia expansion. With 8 GB of internal storage, it supports ATRAC, MP3, WMA, and AAC playback. The LCD screen, noise cancellation, video/photo capabilities, Clear Audio Technology, and 36-hour lithium-ion battery remained consistent.

This Walkman model continued the third-generation A Series move toward comprehensive portable media devices. It was the higher-capacity extension of that same more coherent premium A platform, and it helped reinforce the idea that the A Series had now become Sony's clear flash flagship below the more radical things that would come later. The line had stopped feeling caught between too many roles and was now functioning much more naturally as a polished multimedia Walkman with a premium edge.
