The NW-A829/NW is another regional or color variant of the 16 GB fourth-generation A Series model. It kept the full feature complement of the standard A829: 16 GB flash memory supporting ATRAC, MP3, WMA, and AAC playback, the enhanced LCD, Bluetooth, noise cancellation, video and photo support, Clear Audio Technology, and 36-hour lithium-ion battery life.

This unit belonged to the same stable premium flash A platform instead of marking a separate step. By this stage the A Series no longer needed every version to justify itself with a new feature or identity. Sony had finally built a line strong enough to simply extend.
