The NWZ-S716F is a higher-end overseas S Series model in the fifth-generation card-style family. It incorporated noise cancellation alongside multimedia support. It provides 4 GB of flash storage supporting MP3, WMA, AAC, and WAV playback. A 240x320 TFT display, FM radio, WM-PORT, video/photo capabilities, Clear Audio, DSEE, noise cancellation, and 33-hour lithium-ion battery were standard.
The model continued the overseas NWZ push toward versatile, card-form S players with enhanced audio isolation. It was a more ambitious S Series branch that pushed the line upward again by giving it a stronger listening-first identity. Noise cancellation, better accessory integration, and a more elevated tone helped this generation feel like more than just another tidy revision of the earlier S models.
