The NWZ-S615F is an overseas FM-equipped S Series Walkman that aligned with the fifth-generation card-style redesign. It includes noise cancellation for improved listening. The player offers 2 GB storage for MP3, WMA, AAC, and WAV files. A 240x320 TFT display, FM radio, WM-PORT, video and photo playback, Clear Audio, DSEE, and 33-hour lithium-ion battery completed the feature set.

This unit bridged the overseas NWZ branding with the domestic card-body transition in the S line. It was the FM-equipped entry point into a more polished late-2000s S generation, where Sony had largely stopped trying to reinvent the line and instead focused on making it feel cleaner and easier to live with.
