The NW-E002F is the FM-equipped overseas variant of the base seventh-generation E Series Network Walkman. It kept the crystal-inspired USB-stick body and added radio reception. The player provides 512 MB of flash storage for MP3, ATRAC, ATRAC3, ATRAC3plus, WMA, and AAC files. An OLED display, direct USB transfer, and 28-hour lithium-ion battery were standard.
The FM-equipped overseas branch of the USB-stick E generation added radio to make an already compact and practical player feel more self-sufficient in daily use. In a device this compact and direct, FM radio fits naturally because it reinforces the idea that the player should still be useful even when it is not tethered to your library.
