WM-FX877

Digital Tuner F Mech
WM-FX877

The WM-FX877 is a radio-equipped cassette Walkman that continued Sony's long-running FX formula into the final years of the format. It combined AM/FM reception with auto-reverse playback in a compact, familiar body, allowing users to move easily between taped music and live broadcasts without changing devices. Remote operation and standard battery power supports extended everyday use, keeping the machine practical instead of experimental.

What stands out about the FX877 notable is how stable the concept had become. By then the radio Walkman was no longer a feature extension but a fully established category with its own expectations. The 877 is less of a new model and closer to a continuation of a very well-understood portable routine.
