WM-FX503

The WM-FX503 is a midrange radio Walkman that combined FM/AM tuning, Mega Bass, and auto-reverse playback in a compact portable body built around everyday use instead of high-end finish. It kept the controls and radio handling relatively simple, but the addition of auto-reverse made it a noticeably smoother long-listening machine than the lower FX players beneath it. The overall object remained practical and portable.

This model is the kind of model that makes immediate sense if you imagine a real owner using it every day. Tape, radio, no flipping, extra bass. That is basically the whole proposition, and by 1995 that was enough to make a perfectly viable Walkman.
