The MZ-R3 is a MiniDisc recorder that evolved early portable recording into a more flexible and sophisticated recording system. Equipped with microphone input, line input, and optical input, it supports both analog and digital recording, making it compatible with a wide range of sources. Recording control includes automatic and manual level adjustment, and editing functions such as splitting, merging, moving, and title input allow for on-device management of recording content. It also features date and time recording and supports multiple power supply configurations to ensure long operating times. However, there are limitations to adjustments made after recording has started.
