WM-FX123

The WM-FX123 is an affordable radio Walkman that paired basic FM/AM tuning with Mega Bass and a simple cassette mechanism inside a compact plastic body with straightforward controls. It stayed very close to Sony's ordinary mid-1990s FX formula, avoiding more advanced tuning or playback features in favor of keeping the machine easy to buy, easy to carry, and easy to use.

A radio Walkman like this feels almost invisible historically until you realize how many people probably owned something similar. The FX123 sits in the everyday center of the late cassette era, and that alone makes it worth keeping visible.
