WM-FX10

The WM-FX10 is part of the lowest-end radio Walkman in Sony's 1991 FX lineup, built around a manual FM/AM tuner, basic cassette playback, anti-rolling support, and manual tape selection inside a lightweight plastic body. A cassette window and belt clip kept the machine familiar and practical, while the absence of Dolby, auto-reverse, or bass processing made its role in the line very clear. It was a radio Walkman stripped back to essentials.

The FX10 suggests how broad and accessible the FX branch had become by the early 1990s. Sony no longer needed radio-equipped players to feel advanced in order for them to make sense.
