WM-F73

TV Band
WM-F73

The WM-F73 is a Sports radio Walkman that combined cassette playback with AM/FM stereo reception, TV audio band support, auto-reverse, and Dolby B noise reduction inside a tougher outdoor-oriented body. Powered by two AA batteries, it extends the basic Sports player concept beyond simple durability by adding a wider set of broadcast options and more convenient tape handling. This model was clearly meant to be used actively rather than delicately.

The Sports branch was starting to become functionally distinct rather than just cosmetically rugged. Features like TV audio and auto-reverse give it a broader role than a basic exercise player. It marks the point where the Sports Walkman started becoming its own real subcategory.
