The WM-F2085 is a radio cassette Walkman that combined auto-reverse playback, Dolby B noise reduction, Mega Bass, and a digital clock and alarm into one compact portable body. FM/AM reception remained central to the machine, but the added timekeeping features made it feel closer to a daily routine object than a pure audio player. The layout reflected that broader role, with listening and scheduling functions sitting side by side.
The F2085 captures a very early-1990s Sony habit: folding more parts of daily life into the Walkman without making the object feel dramatically more complex. This was less about a tape-and-radio player and more about something edging toward a pocket routine manager. Here the Walkman was becoming multifunctional.
