The WM-F2015 is a compact radio cassette Walkman that combined FM/AM reception with auto-reverse playback in a relatively compact and integrated body built for daily carry. The tuner and cassette mechanism were packed together cleanly enough that the machine felt closer to the compact playback branch than to the larger, more relaxed radio players. It was clearly built around portable convenience instead of sound experimentation.
With F2015, you can see how Sony was continuing to compress the radio Walkman into tighter and more natural everyday forms by the end of the 1980s. It was not a flagship tuner machine, but a functional expression of how mature the category had become. It was an everyday radio Walkman in the best possible way.
