The WM-EX560 is an upper-mid EX-series playback Walkman that added Dolby B noise reduction, remote-control support, auto-reverse, Mega Bass, and AVLS to a more refined body with logic controls. It sat above the plain midrange players by making the machine easier to control and easier to live with, especially for users who wanted in-line operation instead of direct handling of the body. The overall object leaned toward late-cassette convenience instead of pure sound experimentation.
Here the useful difference is not what it plays, but how the user interacts with it. The EX560 sits in the part of the late EX line where remote use, smoother control, and reduced friction had become more useful than adding yet another visible feature.
