NW-WM1Z
The NW-WM1Z is the top-of-the-line Walkman in the WM1 series. It features 256GB of internal storage and supports playback of MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC, Linear PCM, and DSD formats. It includes touch operation, Bluetooth, WM-PORT connectivity, S-Master HX, and DSEE HX, and offers approximately 33 hours of playback. This unit employs a self-contained configuration using its internal storage.
This was the point where Sony stopped hedging. These were not designed to be casual companions. Weight, materials, and internal layout became the message. The WM1A offered a restrained aluminum build, while the WM1Z pushed the idea to its extreme with a gold-plated copper chassis that emphasized mass, conductivity, and isolation.
