The NW-WM1AM2 is a second-generation high-quality Walkman part of the WM1 series. It has 128GB of built-in storage and supports playback of MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC, Linear PCM, DSD, and MQA formats. It is equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB-C connectivity and sound processing functions such as DSEE Ultimate, and can play for approximately 40 hours. This unit employs a self-contained configuration that uses the built-in storage.
The NW-WM1AM2 continued Sony's Signature Series approach, carrying forward the high-end Walkman design with updated platform support while maintaining its core focus on sound quality and physical construction.
It reintroduced Android as the operating system, integrating modern connectivity without altering the underlying audio-first philosophy. The design retained a substantial aluminum chassis, emphasizing structural stability and controlled signal paths.
The internal layout continued to prioritize power delivery and noise reduction, aligning with the established principles of the WM1 series.
