The NW-WM1AM3 is a 2026 WM1 Series Walkman with 128 GB of storage and a 5.5-inch display. Following the NW-WM1AM2, it combines an aluminum main chassis with a gold-plated oxygen-free copper rear chassis. Like the NW-WM1ZM3, it uses dual large solid high-polymer capacitors, bringing the WM1 power-circuit revisions to the aluminum-bodied model.
Android, Wi-Fi and USB-C support downloaded music and streaming services. According to Sony, the updated S-Master HX adds look-ahead noise shaping, while the DSD Remastering Engine can now process streamed music as well as downloaded files.
Sony announced the model in the US on October 15, 2026, and in Japan on October 16. As of October 16, its Japanese launch is scheduled for November 27, 2026.
