NW-S605

The NW-S605 is a higher-capacity model in the fourth-generation S Series Network Walkman family. It shared the Clear Audio Technology debut that marked the entire 600-range shift. With 2 GB of flash storage, it played ATRAC3plus, MP3, WMA, and AAC files. The color OLED display, voice/FM recording (with cable), WM-PORT, and 45-hour lithium-ion battery remained unchanged.

A key transition model for the S Series. The old active-use framing did not disappear completely, but it was no longer the whole point. Clear Audio-era tuning, more display ambition, and broader feature depth gave the S line a much more substantial place in Sony's flash hierarchy.
