YP-ES21

The YP-ES21 is a youth-market cassette player from Sony's ES sub-line, built around compact plastic construction, basic playback controls, and Mega Bass in a very simple portable format. It stayed closer to an everyday accessory than to a more "serious" Walkman, with the design clearly centered on casual use and easy handling.

This model sits in the same broader late-cassette story as the other YP models: preserving the format technically was only part of it. Sony was also continuing to package it for younger and more style-driven audiences.
