YP-ER22

The YP-ER22 continued the same youth-player formula as the ER21, combining Mega Bass, lightweight construction, and simple cassette playback inside a compact plastic body built for easy everyday carrying. Like the surrounding YP models, it stayed stripped of most advanced playback or control features, leaning instead on portability and low-friction use.

Models like this are easy to dismiss, but they are actually very useful. The ER22 suggests Sony still finding ways to keep cassette alive by presenting it in smaller, more audience-specific forms instead of only through technical upgrades.
