The WM-RX707 is a dedicated recording Walkman from Sony's RX branch, built around an EX Amorphous head and a more straightforward recording-first philosophy than the broader-features GX models. It supports external-input recording, auto-reverse, Dolby B, Extended Dynamic Bass Boost, AVLS, and remote control inside a compact metal case that stayed easy to carry and operate. The emphasis was on reliable capture and playback instead of on tuner flexibility or added media functions.
What makes the RX707 interesting is that it shows Sony still preserving a simpler recorder branch for people who wanted to make tapes without carrying a more complex all-in-one machine. Not every recording Walkman needed to be a radio hub or a study tool. The RX707 is a clean, practical recorder for users who still treated cassette as something they made, more than consumed.
