The WM-F3010 is a My First Sony radio cassette player built for children, combining simple tape playback with a basic FM/AM tuner inside a colorful plastic body with oversized controls and uncomplicated operation. Like other My First Sony products, it emphasized durability and ease of understanding over compactness or advanced sound features, making the transition between cassette and radio feel approachable instead of technical.
Adding radio makes this one slightly more useful than the simpler child-only cassette players. Playback was not the whole story here; Sony was extending the broader portable-listening habit into the children's branch as well. The WM-F3010 is a compact family-use translation of the adult Walkman ecosystem.
