WM-EX600

The WM-EX600 is a simple entry-level EX-series playback Walkman built around the final mature version of Sony's compact cassette formula. Its slim body housed auto-reverse playback, Mega Bass enhancement, and basic remote-compatible operation, with a layout built for reliable everyday use instead of feature depth. The transport remained straightforward and efficient, keeping the player light, pocketable, and easy to live with.

What stands out about the EX600 interesting is how little it tries to prove. By 1999, the Walkman no longer needed to justify itself through innovation at the lower end of the range. This model is a quiet continuation of a fully understood idea: a compact, dependable cassette player built to do exactly what was expected of it, no more and no less.
