The WM-BF43 is an FM/AM radio cassette Walkman built around a quick-switch button that allowed users to jump directly between cassette playback and radio listening without working through more cumbersome source changes. The rest of the machine stayed simple, with a compact plastic body, manual tape selector, and straightforward tuner integration, but that one interface choice gave it a slightly more purposeful everyday identity than many of the surrounding low-cost tuner models.
With BF43, you can see how Sony was starting to treat source-switching itself as part of the user experience instead of just an unavoidable function. By this stage, the company understood that convenience could live in tiny interface decisions as much as in major technical features. It comes through as a compact but smart commuter-oriented refinement.
