D-NS505

The D-NS505 belonged to Sony's S2 Sports line and emphasized durability over elegance in an effort to keep spinning-disc portability useful for active use. It supported ATRAC3plus, ATRAC3, MP3, and standard CDs while prioritizing water resistance, rugged handling, strap-based portability, and controls that remained usable during movement.

That gives it a very different personality from most of the 2003 lineup. The D-NS505 is part of the shrinking part of the category that still treated the disc player as something to take outside and move around with instead of something mainly built for indoor, careful use.
