The WM-FX85 is the radio-equipped companion to the WM-EX85, pairing the same slim playback body and travel-oriented accessories with a global-band digital FM/AM tuner. It kept auto-reverse, Dolby B, Extended Dynamic Bass Boost, and the split-earphone remote, while adding one-touch automatic station storage and the same international quick charger compatible with 100-to-240-volt outlets. The result was a machine designed as much around movement between places as around playback itself.
This is one of those models where the added radio feels completely in character instead of tacked on. The FX85 makes sense for the same reason the EX85 does: Sony was clearly thinking about users who traveled often and wanted one compact machine that would stay useful across different routines, regions, and power systems. It is a very practical kind of premium.
