Digital Tuner World Tuner
WM-FX777

The WM-FX777 is a compact radio Walkman built around Sony's world tuner and area-call logic, making station access across regions easier without forcing the user into repeated manual setup. It combined AM, FM, and TV audio reception with auto-reverse playback, Dolby B, Extended Dynamic Bass Boost, AVLS, Automatic Music Sensor, blank skip, and remote control inside a slim portable body. The includes pouch and ear receiver completed the sense that it was meant to function as a complete carry-everywhere radio-and-cassette package.

This is a very good example of Sony making the radio Walkman feel globally normal instead of locally specific. The FX777 was not about audiophile cassette mechanics or experimental hardware, but about smoothing out the friction of moving between listening habits and places. It is a machine designed around routine portability in a more mobile world.
