The WM-FX37 is a midrange radio Walkman that pushed sound customization further than the simpler FX models by combining Mega Bass with a 2x expansion circuit, Dolby B noise reduction, and a front-mounted slider for adjusting low and high tone balance. Alongside that it offers auto-reverse playback, anti-rolling support, and an AM/FM tuner in a practical upright body that still stayed recognizably ordinary instead of premium.
This model comes from the very early-1990s Sony moment when portable listening was being made to feel more adjustable and more personal without making the player itself much more intimidating. The FX37 is less of a bare utility device and more like something you would actually tweak and shape around your own tapes and stations.
