WM-F180

WM-F180

The WM-F180 is a compact radio Walkman that combined cassette playback with FM and AM reception in a slim metal body, carrying over a practical feature set that includes auto-reverse, Dolby B noise reduction, Dynamic Bass Boost, and an EX Amorphous head. Operation remained straightforward, with mechanical controls and a compact LED indicator keeping the machine easy to use without layering on more complexity than necessary. It was a clean, balanced design built around ordinary portability.

sits in the center of the lineup but matters because so many people would have uses something like it. The F180 was not built to impress collectors or define a branch, but to handle both taped music and live radio with as little friction as possible. It is a player made for routine, and that was a large part of the Walkman's success by then.
