WM-EX334

WM-EX334

The WM-EX334 moved the EX line into a flatter laying-style body while keeping the feature set fairly grounded: auto-reverse playback, Dolby B noise reduction, three-state Mega Bass, AVLS, and manual tape selection, all powered by two AA batteries. The more horizontal proportions made it feel slightly tidier and more pocket-oriented than the standing EX models below it, even though the underlying idea remained a practical midrange cassette player instead of a premium one.

More than anything, this is a shape shift. The EX334 sits in the point when Sony is trying to make even its mid-level cassette players feel more modern through body format and handling instead of through dramatic technical change. It also suggests why late Walkman are often about packaging as much as function.
