The NW-E043 concluded the tenth-generation E Series run with Virtual Mobile Engine support and the updated rounded body with detachable Style-Up Panel. It features 4 GB storage for MP3, WMA, and AAC files along with the lithium-ion battery rated for 30 hours.

This Walkman model is the more balanced middle-capacity version of that same generation. It showed Sony getting better at building the kind of Walkman people could just use without needing to think about it too much.
