The MZ-E630 was a later-generation MDLP player that focused on refined playback quality. It supported both standard and long-playback MiniDisc formats, and ATRAC Type-S enabled more natural playback of compressed recordings. The sound during playback was shaped by a digital amplifier and internal signal processing, and it also featured functions such as bass boost and volume limiting. The main control was the remote control, which also handled track skipping and group functions.
