D-180WP

The D-180WP is a late-1990s portable CD player from the phase where styling and presentation had started to matter as much as the underlying hardware. It kept the standard anti-skip system and familiar control layout of the period, but is packaged in a way that felt softer and more approachable than the commuter-focused players that came before it.

By the end of the decade, portable CD was no longer being sold as a technical step forward so much as a normal part of everyday life. The D-180WP belongs to that shift, where how the player fit into a person's routine mattered more than what it could prove on paper.
