The WM-EX525 belonged to Sony's EX-series cassette Walkman released in 2003. It provides auto-reverse playback paired with Mega Bass enhancement and AVLS protection, housed in a compact metal-accented body powered by one AA battery capable of delivering approximately thirty-five hours of playback. The design retained a tape window and logical button layout while keeping overall features focused and straightforward.
With cassette formats nearing the end of mainstream support, Sony uses incremental updates within the EX series to extend the appeal of tape-based listening. This model targeted everyday users who valued the convenience of auto-reverse and enhanced bass in a lightweight package, serving as a modest step up from simpler siblings and helping sustain the lineup for those still invested in the tactile feel of cassettes during daily routines.
