WM-9

The WM-9 is the Japanese domestic counterpart to the WM-8 and one of Sony's more basic early-1980s playback Walkman models. It uses the same compact upright plastic body, four-AA power configuration, dual headphone outputs, and fully mechanical cassette controls, with no Dolby, auto-reverse, or radio circuitry to complicate the design. A manual tape-type selector and a clean, unadorned layout keep the player simple and dependable.
