The NWZ-B143 provides 4 GB capacity in Sony's entry-level B Series Network Walkman without radio features. It represented the simple flash-based player for everyday listening. The built-in storage supports MP3 and WMA playback. Track information appeared on the LCD display, with lithium-ion battery life of 18 hours. Direct USB connection managed transfers, accompanied by ZAPPIN for song sampling.
The B143 takes the same simple B-series philosophy and gives it just enough storage to feel less cramped in everyday use. That compact shift matters more than it sounds, because the budget Walkman line only really works when it stops feeling like a punishment.
