The D-T115 is a tuner-equipped Discman from 1992 that continued Sony's CD-plus-radio line with a more mature and capable package than the earlier hybrids. It added AM stereo reception while keeping 1-bit processing, Mega Bass, and a solid headphone section, so the radio side did not feel like a stripped-down convenience feature attached to an otherwise serious player.
Even as the pure CD machines became more sophisticated and commuter-friendly, there was still room for models built around one-machine convenience. The D-T115 works because it treats broadcast listening as part of everyday portable use instead of as a novelty extra. By this point, that logic was already well established.
