NW-S744

NW-S744

The NW-S744 is the base model in the higher-storage seventh-generation S Series Network Walkman. It emphasized the shift to x-app software and expanded integration. It offers 8 GB flash storage for MP3, WMA, AAC, and WAV files with video and photo playback, the 240x320 TFT display, 42-hour lithium-ion battery, WM-PORT, Clear Audio, DSEE, Lyric Pita, and x-app.

This unit is part of the next refinement of that same late classic S logic but with a noticeably sleeker and more self-contained feel than the earlier S644 family. Sony had already explored the "make it richer and more social" direction; here it starts cleaning that idea up and making it feel more elegant again. The S744 is less of a branch trying to prove it has personality and closer to a branch that already knows it does.
