NW-S645

The NW-S645 extended the seventh-generation S Series to 16 GB while introducing x-app-era features and 32 GB flash memory support across the family. It strengthened PS3 and TV integration. With 16 GB storage for MP3, WMA, AAC, and WAV files plus video and photo, it uses a 240x320 TFT display and 42-hour lithium-ion battery along with WM-PORT, Clear Audio, DSEE, Lyric Pita, and x-app.

This model is the more practical middle ground of the earlier speaker-equipped S generation and probably the version where that family made the most everyday sense. It still carries the same "more visible, more casual-use" late-2000s S identity, but with a little less of the "look what this can do" feeling that some of the surrounding models have.
